& it don’t matter
your own situations
& should you
just for a fraction
slow their insistence

you become the bad
never mind its 2.30 am
you’ve just dragged them out
out of a full kicking
they’re flying & you
you miserable schmuck
are not
they are doing you the favour
of inviting you in
to their full-on lives
from then on
some get solids
& some get
a dead phone silence
