felt her

needing help

put my hand out

to offer

got sucked in deep

down into her pit

the chaos

recognised quick

i too was

beginning to drown

turned around

found firmer ground

hearing her cry

why

are you leaving me?

the hook deep

in my gut

ripping tearing

turning angry

when i asked back

how come

you didn’t follow

learn to swim

continue to drown?

never heard her answer
